The Junior National Beta Club is an extracurricular club for middle school students. Recently, the annual convention was held in Macon, Georgia and consisted of several competitions that challenged members’ creative and academic skills. The “Tower of Power” competition is a highlight of the convention in which five students build a tower from 250 straws and a single roll of tape in 15 minutes. The objective is to build the tallest tower which can hold a tennis ball for at least 60 seconds at its highest point. Our Lady of Victory’s tower won with a height of six feet and four inches, winning the competition and becoming state champions.
